UK Software Development Company xDesign Announced as Finalists for UK App Awards

Edinburgh, UK— The UK App Awards are quickly approaching and will commence on 13 November. The awards organisation strives to acknowledge and award prominent apps in the UK that have broken international ground within the tech industry. After its successful inaugural ceremony in 2017, the association is looking forward to honouring several app developing companies this year. One notable entry that submitted to the competition is xDesign. On 12 October, the committee announced that one of the company’s apps had been shortlisted for the “B2B/Business App of the Year” award.

Working with Menzies Aviation, the xDesign team created the SMART (Standard Menzies Audit and Reporting Tool) app. The program makes the air travel inspection process more efficient and thorough, allowing airports to operate quickly and smoothly. Both companies worked closely together and developed several prototypes to eventually create an app that would strengthen airport security successfully.

After being implemented the app throughout its 200+ airports, Menzies received positive feedback and noticeable results. The app’s effectiveness and software usability likely appealed to the Business App of the Year’s award committee and lead to the SMART’s much deserved nomination.

xDesign was also shortlisted for the “UK App Agency of the Year – Medium” award. This award honours development agencies with clear objectives and innovative achievements. Through this award, xDesign is not only being recognised for SMART but also their emphasis on positive clientele relations and dedication to creating quality products as a company.

xDesign also focuses on working with a clientele base comprised of diverse companies. They recognise that businesses from all fields can benefit from their high functioning apps. They also accommodate the varying degrees of familiarity with software production their clients have and create apps that are user-friendly for all.

For 2018’s UK App Awards, several impactful companies have been nominated across 29 categories. Organisations generally submit themselves for consideration through the UK App Awards’ website. All submissions face a meticulous vetting process and are expected to meet specific criteria. The judging panel consists of leaders and experts in the industry, and prides itself on a fair and transparent selection process.

Winners will be announced at the ceremony on Tuesday 13 November, which will be held at the Montcalm Marble Arch venue in London.
