On his educational journey, Dr. Tyrance Jr. graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1990. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1997 and his Master of Public Policy degree from Harvard Kennedy School that same year. 

After his graduation, he interned at Massachusetts General Hospital. From 1999 to 2002, he was a member of the core curriculum committee at Harvard Orthopedics and organized a two-year curriculum for orthopedic residents in the diagnosis and management of spine pathology.

After serving his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Tyrance Jr. earned his Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University in 2015. He then worked as an orthopedic surgeon in the Omaha area until 2016.

Recognized as a leader in his field, Dr. Tyrance Jr. is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Prior to becoming an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Tyrance Jr. was a former All-Conference and Academic All-American linebacker at the University of Nebraska and was drafted by the LA Rams.
