Katalon LLC. today announced the release of Katalon Studio v.5.6, a simple and helpful test automation solution. This release features the powerful API testing and Advanced Recording which make the test automation easier than ever before.

Katalon Studio is an automation testing solution for Web, Mobile, and API automation testing. Katalon Studio was developed to support various testing technologies (Data-Driven Testing, TDD/BDD, Page Object Model, etc.) and integrate with the modern ALM systems such as JIRA, qTest, Slack, CI, Katalon Analytics, etc.

There are some updated features of Katalon Studio such as New API Testing, Advanced Web Recorder, Beginner Friendly, Share Custom Keywords and Extend Web Service’s object. This enhancement has brought Katalon Studio to another milestones: being listed among the Top 10 API testing tools view here.

With New API Testing, Fully support SOAP and REST API automation, the enhanced API component empowers automation engineer to combine, manipulate and validate the functional scenario test cases easily and effectively by using the same IDE interface.

Besides, with Advanced Web Recorder, automation engineers are now able to enjoy fast test generation while still being able to maintain and reuse test cases easily. Furthermore, in a team with diversified skill sets, it’s essential to allow team members to collaborate effectively in creating test cases. With Advanced Recording, this goal can be achieved.

In addition, more sample projects have been added to the public Katalon GitHub repository. People can select those sample projects as soon as they access the welcome page of Katalon Studio app, together with useful tips and tricks to maximize their test efficiency.

Furthermore, users now can utilize the Import/Export Keywords feature in Katalon Studio 5.6 in order to share their custom keywords within the team or with the community. The Web Service object’s view had also been enhanced to let users execute the verification snippets on the fly.
